H.I.B. School Grade Report for Margate City Schools
It is with great pleasure that I will be serving the Margate Community as the Principal of the William H. Ross III Elementary School and Director of Special Education. I am entering my sixth year as an administrator in Margate.
Prior to coming to Margate, I served as a middle school vice-principal in Egg Harbor Township; Learning Disability Teacher Consultant in Galloway Township; and Special Education Teacher (LD/ ED) in Brigantine and Norfolk, Virginia. In addition to my educational experience, I have also served as an adjunct profession at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (teacher education program) along with coaching basketball at the middle, high school and Division III levels.
Before starting my educational career, I was a Division I basketball player on full scholarship at The College of William and Mary. Playing against the powerhouses of women's college basketball created a great sense of preparation, patience and teamwork, which was an incredibly formative influence that I bring everyday to my position here at Ross. This drive led me to continue on in my education to complete a Master's Degree in Special Education from Old Dominion University along with a Master's Degree and Doctorate in Administration in Widener University.
My primary concerns as principal are to always maintain the safety and security of our students and staff, and to work cooperatively with the Board of Education, staff, parents and community. I will continue to maintain our mission to facilitate the educational, social and emotional growth of all our students.
Being in this community, I know that our parents are actively involved; and together with the staff, work hard to provide our students with every opportunity to be successful. We will continue to revise curriculum to align the Common Core State Standards, as we prepare our students for the PARCC assessments in both Mathematics and English Language Arts this spring.
I look forward to working with all of you in the coming year here at the amazing Ross School! I am honored to be a part of the amazing Margate Community.
